Ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd is set to be honoured with a testimonial this weekend by the two clubs he owes much of his career too, Kilmarnock an Rangers.
Boyd, 35, is still kicking a ball at Rugby Park. He’s also trying his hand at football punditry. Here’s him winding up Tam McManus.
But such has been his commitment to both clubs he is to be recognised during this international break.
The game will kick off at 1pm on Saturday at Rugby Park in Kilmarnock. A Kilmarnock Heroes side will take a special Rangers Euro XI which includes Peter Lovenkrands, Nacho Novo, Michael Mols and Pedro Mendes.
The two teams will be managed by current Killie boss Steve Clarke and also Rangers legend Ally McCoist respectively.
Boyd will go down in Rangers history
Kris Boyd is the SPL’s all-time top goalscorer with 167 goals. The out-and-out poacher will mostly be remembered by Rangers fans for how lethal he was in and around the 18 yard box.
The striker made 234 appearances for the club over two spells and scored 138 goals. He won six trophies with the Ibrox club and also played for Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Eskişehirspor and Portland Timbers.
Tickets are available to purchase online at www.kilmarnockfc.co.uk and Rangers supporters can also purchase tickets for the Chadwick Stand where they will be housed for the fixture by calling 01563 545301.
