Rangers-linked Blackpool striker Jerry Yates got his second goal in as many games as his astonishing Championship goal drought finally comes to an end.
The 26-year-old striker found the back of the net from the penalty spot to equalise for Blackpool midway through the first half after they fell 1-0 down to Coventry.
But the goal wasn’t enough to prevent yet another defeat for the Seasiders who are 23rd in the Championship table following the 4-1 Bloomfield Road hammering at the hands of the Sky Blues.
This was Blackpool star Jerry Yates’ second strike in as many games, with the forward ending an incredible 18-game goal drought with another penalty in a 6-1 win over QPR last weekend.
The goals are Yates’ 10th and 11th of the season, with the striker scoring his first nine Championship goals of the campaign in a run of 13 matches between August and October.
Blackpool striker Jerry Yates finds scoring touch after drought
Such was the potency of Jerry Yates in this period there were plenty of Blackpool exit links, with Rangers amongst those reportedly watching the player net a double against Preston North End in October.
The Sun were even claiming that Blackpool could demand around £5m for the player’s services, a far cry from earlier reports which had linked the Ibrox side.
Only a season previously, former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was being linked with the striker amid reports it could take as little as £2m to pry him from Bloomfield Road.
That worrying run of mid-season form will have plenty of Rangers fans doubting the credentials of Jerry Yates as the Gers look to go to the next level next season.

There is massive expectation at Ibrox that the club get the next window right and sign players who can come in and contribute right away at domestic and European level.
Whilst we’re unsure Jerry Yates is that man, it’s good to see the Blackpool striker back amongst the goals as the club look to stave off relegation to League One.
Meanwhile, another Rangers-linked Championship striker in Joel Piroe played over the weekend.
