Jak Alnwick set to stay at Scunthorpe until the end of the season - McCall

25-year old goalkeeper, Jak Alnwick, is yet to return Rangers.
That’s despite his loan deal at Scunthorpe United, having been due to expire at the beginning of this month.

Previously, it seemed as though the two clubs had arranged a short extension onto the initial deal.
Scunthorpe’s original first choice ‘keeper Matt Gilks, is still making his way back to full fitness after an injury.
With the Iron short on cover, Alnwick appeared to be staying on until the Gers returned from Tenerife.
Grimsby Live reported that a decision would be made on the ex-Newcastle man’s future, after their last weekend’s fixture at Walsall.
However, no official announcement has materialised.

Alnwick’s adopted manager, Stuart McCall, has spoken out on the player though.

Nothing has been confirmed as yet, but he believes he will be staying put.
“The feedback we’re getting is that they (Rangers) are quite happy with Jak staying on loan until the end of the season”, he told the Grimsby Telegraph.
“I was speaking to Jak the other day. He is more than happy to stay and we are more than happy with him.”

Should that materialise, it looks as though Alnwick doesn’t have much of a future at Ibrox.
That’s despite, being contracted to the club until May 2020.
With reports also suggesting that Robby McCrorie could head out on loan, it appears the Gers are happy to take on 2019 with just two senior keepers available for selection.
