Highly-rated Rangers defender Kyle McClelland has signed a contract extension, keeping him at Ibrox until at least the summer of 2022.
The announcement was made through the Rangers Youth Academy Twitter account on Tuesday and followed hot on the heels of the news of the signing of former Arsenal youth, Malcolm Ebiowei.

The 17-year-old is a Northern Ireland youth international and an integral part of the Rangers U18 side.
Alongside striker, Chris McKee and fellow defender, Danny Finlayson, he’s one of several talents at the club hailing from Ulster
It’s a sign of how highly regarded McClelland is, that he has been given the security of a deal until the end of next season, as he looks to start progressing through the ranks.
He was named on the bench for last week’s UEFA Youth League defeat to Atletico Madrid but with his compatriot Finlayson primed for a loan stint in the United States with Orange County SC, he could be set to play a more important role at Development level over the coming months.
McClelland wrote on Twitter on Tuesday evening that he was ‘delighted’ to put pen to paper.

The first team are currently well-stocked defensively with Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Filip Helander and George Edmundson all on the books.
But with Lewis Mayo and the likes of McClelland, Finlayson and Leon King impressing at youth level, Academy coaches will be hoping a homegrown talent will be able to make a breakthrough in the coming seasons.
