Gerrard gives update on Rangers stars' fitness ahead of Hibs clash

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has given an injury update on his squad ahead of this weekend’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hibs – and the Light Blues look like they will be without Ryan Jack for the Ibrox clash.
Gerrard’s side face Hibs – who are still unbeaten in the league under Paul Heckingbottom – knowing they have already secured second in the league regardless of their final three results.

The Gers boss confirmed that Jack and Gareth McAuley are doubts with Jack suffering from a “potential throat infection.”
“Ryan Jack has a potential throat infection at the moment so we will have to make a decision on him,” Gerrard said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

“Gareth McAuley has a hamstring issue. No other injury news.”
Losing Jack would be a big blow as the midfielder has been crucial to Gerrard’s side this season but the news McAuley is out doesn’t really come as a surprise.

The veteran has struggled to make any impact since his move to Ibrox last summer and will almost certainly leave at the end of the season.
If Jack does miss out, Gerrard won’t be short of options to replace him with the likes of Ross McCrorie, Matt Polster and Lassana Coulibaly waiting in the wings.
