Rangers trio Borna Barisic, Eros Grezda and Kyle Lafferty “appear to have played their last match” for Steven Gerrard’s side – according to a report – and the Gers boss’ recent comments seem to back that up.
According to the Herald, the trio of summer signings have run out of chances at Ibrox after the shambolic bounce game with Liverpool under-23s last week.

When asked specifically about Grezda and Barisic, Gerrard hinted that he’s had enough of them and pointed to their lack of involvement in the first-team.
“I’m not here to speak about individual players but I’ve already spoken about them a while ago,”
Gerrard said, as quoted by The Herald.

“Have I seen anything in the interim to show me they’ve taken it on board? Well, one’s been injured but have they played in the starting 11? Not much, so that’s the answer to your question.

“Unfortunately, there were a lot of players when I came into the club who were holding Rangers back. And there’s still some around. At the right time, I’ll address that.”
With the Gers facing Aberdeen later today, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the three are involved in the side.

After spending somewhere around £4million signing them last summer, it doesn’t particularly reflect well on the Gers that so many of their summer signings aren’t up to it.
Gerrard and Mark Allen simply can’t afford to make as many expensive mistakes this summer if the Gers are to finally close to gap to Celtic.
