Marseille could be set to reignite their interest in Rangers star Alfredo Morelos, according to a report, as the look for a replacement for Mario Balotelli.
Balotelli only joined OM in January but foot-sur claim the Colombian is a potential replacement for the Italian.
Marseille’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is said to be keen on bringing the Colombia international to France after trying to lure him from Ibrox 12 months ago.
Morelos has continually been linked with moves away from Ibrox although he has recently signed a new contract which ties him to the Gers long-term.
If the Gers are to sell the 22-year-old, Marseille will need to dig deep and cough up a similar fee to the near-£20million Celtic pocketed from selling Moussa Dembele.
With 29 goals to his name this season, Rangers simply can’t let Morelos leave on the cheap and must make sure they squeeze every last penny out of any potential transfer.
Morelos has spoken in the past of his desire to play in the Premier League so it may be that the striker sits tight until there’s interest from south of the border.
The Colombian is curently serving a four-match ban and will miss the weekend visit of Aberdeen to Ibrox as the Gers look to secure second place in the league with a win over the Dons.
