Rangers striker Flo Kamberi has claimed Steven Gerrard told him he’s been scouting him since the Gers first arrived in Scotland and insists Gerrard is a “really big fan” of his.
Kamberi joined the Light Blues on loan on deadline day and admits the gaffer is “in a class of his own.”
The Albanian has been looking to take advantage of learning from Gerrard and thinks the manager appreciates his performances so far.
“Steven Gerrard told me that he had been scouting me for a year and a half. He is really a big fan of mine,” Kamberi told Sonntags Blick.
“I have huge respect for him. He had a world-class career, so you can absorb every tip from him.
“As a guy, he is in a class of his own, he takes care of us players extremely well.
“Gerrard appreciates my dynamism and thinks I can help my teammates with my energy and encourage the fans.”
Kamberi is due to return to Hibs at the end of the season but there could be the prospect of a permanent switch to Ibrox if Gerrard is such a big fan.
His performances so far have impressed but with only a handful under his belt, it maybe isn’t the best opportunity to judge.
If Rangers do look to make his move permanent, it could see Greg Docherty remain in Leith long-term too after heading in the opposite direction.
