Exciting Rangers signing spotted in training ahead of Kilmarnock clash

Highly-rated Rangers signing Ridvan Yilmaz has been spotted in Ibrox training as expectation mounts about his involvement against Kilmarnock.

The Turkish international left-back, 21, has joined on a reported £5m deal from Besiktas and given the outlay the transfer has generated a lot of interest at home abroad.

After speaking to the press this week, Ridvan Yilmaz was snapped being put through his paces in Rangers training as he continues to settle in Scotland.

With major doubts surrounding the consistency of Croatian international left-back Borna Barisic, it’s expected that Yilmaz will come in as the first choice player in the position.

After coming off the bench against USG, Rangers fans are hoping to see the left-back from the start later today and from here on in watch Ridvan grow into the position and make it his own.

Speaking ahead of the game in a specially prepared press conference this week, Yilmaz has claimed that he is fit and raring to go as Rangers look to kickstart their season.

“I feel quite fit. Before I came here I trained with Besiktas in pre-season,” said Yilmaz [Rangers].

“I haven’t missed a session since I have arrived and the coaches know that I feel fit as well.

“I believe that my football mentality, speed and technique are all good. When I can get these qualities into the game I believe that it can increase the level of the team’s performance.

“My first goal is to get Rangers into the Champions League and to finish the league in a good position in order to win trophies.

“It’s true that I’ve played in some really big games. I really enjoyed those. I’ll be playing in big games here too, I’ll try my best and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Rangers fans are hoping the club bounce back in the right way against Kilmarnock after a disappointing Champions League qualification defeat to Union Saint Gilloise.

Ridvan Yilmaz also forms one part of a reported £9m duo who can immediately strengthen the left-hand side of the pitch for the club.
