Derek Ferguson “would snap you’re hand off” for £6m or £7m for Alfredo Morelos if he was in charge of Rangers.
The former Gers midfielder was speaking as part of an End of Season Review on Open Goal when he made the extraordinary claim.
Ferguson puts it down to the player’s indiscipline and criticised how he behaves on the pitch.
“He’s not a good role model,” said Ferguson, as quoted by Scottish Sun. “If the kids are going to the games, the way he’s carrying on, it’s not a good look.
“I think if they get maybe even £6million or £7m, I would snap you’re hand off for that. I would take the £6m or £7m – it’s just my opinion.
“Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister will have their eyes on other players, there are other players out there. They’ve been better without him.”
The amount quoted by Derek Ferguson is less than a third of the amount Rangers have suggested they want for the Colombian.
