Boxing legend Chris Eubank Snr took some time out to visit Rangers icon Fernando Ricksen at his Airdrie Hospice.
A snap of the two was uploaded by former Rangers star Ricksen’s biographer Vincent de Vries. Touchingly, it includes the caption: “One amazing fighter meets another”.
The motor neurone disease sufferer smiled as he posed for a picture with the boxer. It was also a superb touch from the classy Eubank to go out and visit Ricksen.
Eubank’s visit comes during a trip to Scotland. He had been hosting a meet and greet event in his honour at the Bothwell Bridge Hotel on Saturday night.
Chris Eubank spent 13 years a professional boxer is a former WBO middleweight and light middleweight champion.
But he’s not been in many fights like that which Fernando Ricksen has bravely battled over the years. Ricksen has never shied away from his illness and the opportunity to utilise his name and prominence to raise awareness and funds for it.

Visits like that of Chris Eubank Snr. will brighten up the former Dutch international’s day. Just as a visit from some old teammates did back in January.
