Rangers star Kemar Roofe blasted in a hattrick in Paisley before sarcastically blasting his teammates for their shortcomings in setting him up before now.
The Ibrox striker has been cast into a vital role for the side in the absence of Alfredo Morelos but has struggled to leave an impression in matches against Celtic and Braga.
Much of this concerns Rangers’ tactics not exactly being built for the penalty box poacher and the striker has also been devoid of service amid some shaky performances from his teammates.
In the 4-0 win at St Mirren, Kemar Roofe netted a confidence boosting hattrick that will hopefully serve him in good stead amid a hectic schedule at Rangers.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, Kemar Roofe joked it was “about time” his teammates provided him the service as he discussed scoring three goals in a match for the first time with the Gers.
“It’s about time [I got the service] as well! I’m joking!” Said Kemar Roofe.
“As long as I make my run and make sure I do my bit, I can trust the deliveries to come in.
“Then I just need to focus on my connection and today it worked.”
The striker also insists that there is more to come as he looks to leave a proper impression on the side amid that injury to Colombian forward Alfredo Morelos.
“I’m not pleased with [my overall contribution]. I still feel like I’ve got more to come,” said Roofe.
“Match fitness will play a big part in that. I’m not happy with a few things but I can’t be too fussy, I scored three goals and we won the game. I’m happy but I’ve still got some things to work on.”
Meanwhile, Rangers have been boosted by the return of an influential player to the Ibrox side’s squad.
