Ross Wilson watches on as 40-goal striker struggles in Germany defeat

Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson was in attendance at the Falkirk Stadium as Scotland under-17 flopped against a rampant Germany side – as Ibrox teen Rory Wilson failed to impress the watching scouts.

Ibrox duo Rory Wilson and Jacob Pazikas were both named in Brian McLaughlin’s with midfielder Greig Allen on the bench in the glorious sunshine.

After an early chance for the hosts, Germany took control of the game and never looked back as they dominated proceeding for much of the afternoon.

With the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all linked with an interest in luring the the 40-goal Rory Wilson away from Rangers, there were scouts from clubs across the UK there running the rule over the Gers teen among others.

Having seen several chances thwarted, Germany took the lead with 30 minutes gone, Tom Bischof firing home to break the deadlock.

Having managed to keep it to 1-0 until the break, it took just seconds after the restart for Germany to double their lead, Dzenan Pejcinovic taking advantage of soome woeful defending to fire home.

The second goal completely took the wind out of Scotland’s sails and the heads went down as the Germans set their sights on a cricket score.

The visitors were in complete control and before long it was 3-0, the impressive Bischof scoring his second of the afternoon and finishing off any lingering hope of a comeback.

With Scotland well and truly beaten, Arijon Ibrahimovic added a fourth to round off an impressive performance from the Germans and leaving Scotland’s hopes of reaching the finals in tatters.

For both Ross Wilson – and the watching scouts – there was little to shout about from the Rangers players involved in the defeat.
