Rangers U18 stars 'buzzing' to seal Hampden Youth Cup final date

Rangers under-18s star Mackenzie Strachan was delighted with the character shown by his teammates in last night’s 4-2 win over Hibs as they now look forward to a trip to Hampden in the Scottish FA Youth Cup final.

The Light Blues came from behind twice to level before a late Robbie Ure double sealed the win and set up a Hampden clash with Hearts in the final.

Strachan was buzzing after the final whistle as the Gers booked their place in the final and the teenager thinks the clash with the Jambos will ‘take care of itself’, telling Rangers TV:

“It’s hard to some up just now, but I thought all the boys were brilliant and superb. We all dug deep right to the end and we’re all buzzing to go to Hampden and hopefully win it. Everyone is absolutely buzzing; the atmosphere is superb.

“We’re all looking forward to it [Hampden], this is what we’ve been aiming to do all season. We’ve done it now and I think that will take care of itself now.”

Rangers last lifted the Youth Cup in 2019 and with the young Gers still in the hunt for the CAS title, there could be plenty of silverware to come this season.

Hopefully, Hampden will be opened up for fans to attend the final and cheer on the Rangers youngsters as they look to secure a Youth Cup against Hearts next month.
