Rangers Academy boss Craig Mulholland after their backing allowed Rangers Youth Development Company to hand over a cheque for £450,000 to the club’s Academy.
The fantastic sum was donated after being raised through various fan-backed schemes like the club Lotto, selling Ibrox bricks and the recently relaunched Rangers Pools.

Mulholland was full of praise for RYDC director Colin Stewart for the fantastic work he has done in leading the fundraising for the club’s Academy over the years, taking the total donated over the years to more than £9million.
“It’s fantastic, particularly this year given all the troubles we’ve had,” Mulholland said [Rangers TV]
“For Colin to produce this amount of money for the Academy is tremendous and we know that he and his team have been particularly innovative in the way they’ve gone about it. I think that for the supporters to have backed the Academy in the way they have is fantastic and everyone in the Academy is grateful for that.
“We’ve managed to put on a number of innovative programmes ourselves at the Academy and none of that would be possible without the help of RYDC. A big thank you to Colin and his team, and all the supporters, for buying into this project and making sure we can hopefully achieve something special at Rangers.
“In normal circumstances, Colin has produced some wonderful sums on an annual basis to support the Academy but if you look at businesses and organisations around the world, they were operating normally until the lockdown came and now they are thinking of different ways f doing things.
“The way Colin has been flexible – and the whole club in terms of finding new ways of working – has been terrific and to produce a sum like this is absolutely outstanding.
“Our job now is to make sure we put it to good use and develop players who have a good chance of playing for Rangers’ first-team.”

A big celebration is being planned for when the title is sealed and there’s said to be a ‘realistic chance’ of the Red Arrows playing a part.
