Rangers youngster Charlie Lindsay has had a strong pre-season so far this summer – and the Northern Irishman has continued that by picking up Player of the Tournament as the Gers took part in the Plzen Tournament.
The Light Blues faced MSK Zilina, Viktoria Plzen and Aston Villa in the tournament, losing out to Zilina but winning their other two games, with Lindsay scoring three times for the Gers.
The Gers now turn their attention to their final preparation for the Lowland League season as David McCallum’s side look to improve on last season’s campaign in the fifth tier.
With a number of new faces in the squad, the likes of Lindsay will be looked at to provide a bit of experience having been at the club a few years now.
Encouraging signs for Rangers ahead of new season
With the likes of Lindsey and trialist Thompson Ishaka impressing in pre-season, there are some encouraging signs for David McCallum’s B team ahead of the new campaign.
Although the likes of Tony Weston, Cole McKinnon, Leon King, Charlie McCann and others aren’t part of the B team squad, new faces likes Zak Lovelace should be good replacements.
Having seen there is a clear pathway to the first-team squad, it should also help give the Academy stars a realistic goal of pushing into the thoughts of Gio van Bronckhorst.
